Dr. Jorge Acevedo Canabal is a dedicated physician and adjunct professor at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, with a genuine passion for patient safety, public health, and disaster preparedness.


Throughout his career, Dr. Acevedo Canabal has made significant contributions to various areas of medical research, including genomic surveillance, rare diseases, women's health, and Alzheimer's disease. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Acevedo Canabal has played leadership roles in public health organizations, such as the healthy aging workgroup at the Puerto Rico Department of Health and the Puerto Rico Science, Technology, & Research Trust, where he served as Chief Medical Officer.
